Where does Helio ship?

We ship to the 48 contiguous states in the United States.

When will I receive my order?

Once you place your order, processing takes 1 to 2 business days and then we ship it to you. Shipping takes between 3-8 business days depending on where you're located. (All Helio products ship out of California).

Is shipping free?

Standard shipping is free. We currently do not offer expedited shipping.

How can I track my order?

When your order ships, you will receive an shipment notification email that will include your tracking number.

Can I change or update my order?

If you want to make a change, email us at hello@helioscents.com as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Do you ship to a PO Box Address or military addresses?

No.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover) as well as Apple Pay and Paypal.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your card will be charged when your order is accepted and processed.

What is your return policy?

For the Sniffing Set and for full-size bottles

Full-size bottles can be returned 14 days of their original purchase date. To be eligible for a return, the Product must be in its original sealed packaging and in pristine condition (unopened and unused). Original shipping charges are not refunded unless an exchange is requested. Please specify if you want to exchange the product returned or if you require a refund.

For The Bundle

When you purchase The Bundle, the initial Sniffing Set can be returned within 14 days of the original purchase of the product for a full refund. To be eligible for a return, the Sniffing Set must be in its original sealed packaging and in pristine condition (unopened and unused). Original shipping charges are not refunded unless an exchange is requested. Please specify if you want to exchange the product returned or if you require a refund.

The full-size bottle (purchased with the voucher) can be exchanged for any other full-size bottle within 14 days of the original use of a voucher. To be eligible for an exchange, the item must be in its original sealed packaging and in pristine condition (unopened and unused). Where is Helio located?

We're spread out throughout the West Coast with people in Vancouver, Los Angeles and San Diego.

What does "Helio" mean?

Helio is the Latin word for "sun". We were inspired to use this name from the concept of heliotropism, which is the phenomenon where certain plants bend towards the direction of the sun.

What makes Helio different than other perfume brands?

There's a few key differences. First, perfume is about changing how you smell. Our scents compliment your natural scent without ever overwhelming you. Second, perfume is also built from the outside-in - it basically begins with a marketing concept and then a perfumer figures out what chemicals can be used to communicate that concept in the form of a perfume. Helio takes the exact opposite approach. We begin with singular natural ingredients and then explore how we can turn those ingredients into a scent that feels "there" but also allows your skin to breathe.

How would you describe your style?

Our scents are simple, clean and light. And because of the high concentration of very pure natural ingredients, they also smell like something in the natural world. So if you want to smell like a cookie or a French courtesan, we're probably not for you.

Can I take the ring cap off the bottle?

No! The ring stays on.

Where are your products made?

Our scents are made in the USA and include ingredients distilled from all over the world.

How are your ingredients different than what's found in perfume?

We use more natural ingredients than most perfume. And we use natural ingredients produced with more modern methods that are extremely gentle and very precise (for example, supercritical extraction and molecular distillation). This ensures that our ingredients are very clean and light and allow your skin to breathe so you never feel like you're coated in anything.

Do you use synthetic molecules? If so, why?

We do. Many synthetic molecules such as Iso E Super and Hedione have an extremely good safety record and are necessary to make a scent smell modern because they help create a sense of space in a scent. Without these molecules, a scent would smell overly heavy and claustrophobic. Our unique skill is that we combine these molecules with extremely high purity natural ingredients to create a style that will compliment you but never overwehlm you.

I noticed some of your scents are not see-through but have some color to them. Why is this?

The color is due to the natural ingredients. Nature is not see-through and nature is not white. It comes in many, many colors and thus, so do our scents.

Are your fragrances gender specific?

All of our scents are gender free. So if you like a scent, you should wear it.

How long do your scents last?

It depends on a lot of things such as where you spray them, your body chemistry and the climate. But generally, we aim for 8 hours. Also keep in mind that scents evolve over time. Some ingredients like citruses will evaporate and be gone within a couple of hours whereas other ingredients such as cedar or vetiver will last much longer.

Where should I spray your fragrances?

Where do you want to spray them? Because really, it's up to you. Some people like the nape of the neck. Some like the front of the neck. Some like to spray it on their wrists. Some on their chest. People who want a scent to last longer may spray it on their hair or on their clothes. Again, it's up to you.

Do you test on animals?

No, never. Our scents are 100% cruelty-free.

Are your scents vegan?

Yes. All of our scents are vegan.

Are your scents gluten-free?

Yes.

Do you use any ingredients that have sustainability problems?

No, we don't. And we actively work with our suppliers to keep up-to-date on the sustainability status of any ingredients we do use.

Do you use parabens or phthalates or sulfates or other irritants?

No. Our scents are free of irritants, allergens and other baddies found in perfume.
